So eloquently said and, yes, I agree with you a visit to Ground Zero is worth a person's time and reflection. I would also add a trip to the 9-11 museum right next to the now infamous fire department is worth a visit as well. My husband and I took our children to New York last year who were only 7 and 10 at the time We anticipated spending 30 minutes at the museum and instead spent more than two hours there. We took our time looking at all the pictures of the men and women lost that day and paid respect to people we didn't even know. We also quietly and with tears at times read the words of phone calls made to loved ones in the final minutes of so many lives. It made me wonder, how many calls could I make faced with the same reality. In the present moment, I thought, have I told those who mean the most to me how much I love them and how they are a gift to my life? Trite I know, but as we rush through life taking those moments rather than letting them pass can become the norm. Nathan I agree with you, visiting the site of one of the greatest tragedies on US soil also fills a person with hope and pride. I serve a God that promises that all things work together for good for those who love Him and are called according to His purpose. Out of that tragedy there is triumph and evidence of a human and Godly spirit that evil can not trump!!
